Hi Everyone,
Well, we got through another monthly pack meeting. This one was a little more special as Webelos 2 den leader Doug Seouka did a special speech during the Cubmaster Minute and close us out with the retirement of the colors.
Doug is a great guy and mentored me into my position of cubmaster. I will be honest in that I will not ever fill his shoes the way he did. He was great at it and always is alot f fun. (Unlike me who is a bore) He will not be at the May pack meeting (The last of the 2012-2013 year) as the Webelos 2 will bridge out before our pack meeting. He will be sorely missed and will always be welcome back to visit. We know that his son Damon will be doing big things with the boy scouts and I hope that I get a chance to see him get his eagle scout!
I sent an email earlier to see on which scout day we would like to visit as a pack. Right now the SJ Giants game on May 29th is the leader. Will hopefully get a poll up to see if any other interest comes up. It is an overnighter were we can sleep out in the outfield and watch a movie on the video board.
Well, I have a Cyber Chip class to prepare for next weeks den meeting. Steve and I will be taking over the Tiger, Wolf, and Bear Dens and give our leaders a break. They deserve it for all the hard work they do. If it wasn't for them, we wouldn't of had Bobcat night in October (22 scouts got their bobcat badge that night) and the Blue and Gold in February. Last night was Webelos night as Damon earned his and all of the Webelos 1 group earned their badges! It is moment likes these make me proud that I took the cubmaster position. Not to mention the proud parents of the boys themselves!
Well, gotta get back to work. Look forward to seeing everyone next Monday at the den meeting. It is hard to believe we are that much closer to ending the year :-(
